Conductor and Music Director
An in-demand conductor and interpreter of contemporary music, Stratis Minakakis has conducted ensembles including PRISM Quartet with the Partch Ensemble, ALEA III, Boston Microtonal Society, Alinea Ensemble, and the NEC Contemporary Ensemble. Recent projects include music directing and conducting John Alyward’s acclaimed opera Oblivion, conducting Ken Ueno’s Future Lilacs with PRISM Quartet and Partch Ensemble, and the US premiere of Sciarrino’s “Quaderno di Strada”. He has curated concerts for the NEC Composers’ Series and ALEA III.
